I am in the process of doing a complete re-install of Windows 98 on my machine.
While I was archiving my info onto floppies, I tested each archive upon completion to ensure a good re-install.
The problem arose that when you test an archive, there is a phantom disk at the end.
In a 5-disk archive, testing would request disk #6.
There must be a buffer overrun to disk or something.
My solution was to make a filler text file. After several adjustments, the archive was created onto 6 disks and tested fine.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
