Playing music CD’s.

A Win98SE PIII 700MHz 128K ram. Recently this system stopped playing music cd’s. The system speaker is okay; and you car read files from the cd rom, but when a music cd is inserted, the player does not reconize the music cd’s. I have reinstalled to player, with the same results.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob
