Please help me! DPI 96 to 300

Hi! I am a tech idiot... I will start by being honest!
I have an image that is 96 dpi and the printer needs 300 dpi
Can someone help me increase this? I have exhausted my tech ability... and needless to say-
HELP!

Please respond if you are able to assist me;

You'll need to change the resolution, and you'll also need to re-size the image if you want it to stay the same size.

You should be able just to print it at 1:1 resolution, but the image will come out 1/3 the size you expect.

You'll need an image editor to resize it.

if you resample the image when resizing, and set the DPI.

If you are looking for a tool in particular, many image manipulation programs do this. Try Irfanview or The Gimp. The Gimp is a much larger and complex application - think Photoshop. Irfanview is smaller and will do all the common image editing/viewing tasks, including what you want.
