Please help!!!Query

I have a simple Access 2000 database that has a table.this table has gross salary field.i want to calculate income tax from this field based on criteria.because income tax as you all know varies with income please help!!!

Try this, case statement

Select Income,
Case When [income] < 20000 Then [Income] * 0.2
Else
(20000 * 0.2) + (([Income] - 20000) * 0.4)
End
as [Income Tax]
From MyTable

For example.

You could really go to town and put the rates and bands in another table. You need to look at if from SQL though not the query builder gui.
