plug sata drive into laptop?

My desktop is fried, won't even post, can't get into Bios. I want to retrive the data to my laptop. If I remove the desktops SATA drive is their a way to hook it to my laptop to retrieve the data?

All you need is an external drive enclosure designed for a SATA drive. There are many different models available.

Some are bare-bones and just have the USB and SATA interface.

I use for many hardware items such as these.
