Pop up Windows

by sholtjholt1 . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

I have a:
Windows 98SE 4.1
Genuine Intel Pentium III
Acer
256 mb ram
OE 6
IE 6

I do work for a company where I have to fill out the surveys when I am done with the job. I am unable to use these pop up windows, to fill out forms. I can get the form to pop up,I am able to click on a button, but it does not save the form to the web site. It just sits there. At Microsoft’s Help communities I am unable to even access the form to fill out, I will hit the button and nothing happens.

In outlook express, when I hit a hyperlink the window comes up transparent, then I have to stop it and hit refresh before it loads.

I have gone into folders views, and have changed the following applications:

C:\progra~1\intern~1\iexplore.exe- to – C:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe
Repeated the above changes to
URL’s Gopher Protocol, Hypertext Transfer Protocol, and Hypertext Transfer protocol with Privacy.

When I make these changes I can click on the hyperlinks andthe open just fine. But, I still can not access the pop up windows to finish my surveys.

Also, when I make the above changes they do not stay, I have to redo them every time I restart. Even though I “applied”.

I also ran the following commands from start/run. Each one individually.

regsve32 Shdocvw.dll
regsve32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr232 Urlmon.dll

All ran successfully, except for Shell32.dll

A message came up stating that Shell32.dll was loaded, but the Dll RegisterServer entry point was not found. DllRegisterServer
may not be exported, or a corrupt version of shell32dll may be in memory. Consider using PView to detect and remove it.

I ran SFC, and found that the shell32dll was fine.

What is a PView?

Hope this gives you some insight.

Thank you.
