pop up windows

By robheart ·
hi there

whenever I click on a link on a html page (which is actually supposed to open a pop up window) a blank pop up window opens. If this had occurred just once then I would have concluded that the particular link is a dead link. But it same for all links ( that is the ones that are supposed to open a pop up window)

so if I click on such a link with code (http://195.92.251.81/New/servlet/Position) it opens but when I click on a link with such code (javascript:playerlistpop ()). now it used to open both of kinds in the past. but now I am unable to open them.

even when I am checking e-cards on the net, I have to copy and paste the address on the address bar.

now I used to play a bit with the file types under folder options in My Computer. I use a P3, windows 98 SE with IE5. now is this problem related to the browser or the operating system. will I have to reinstall any of them or can things be worked around by changing some settings.

robin.

I would go ahead and upgrade the browser to either IE5.5, or IE6.

If it is a file association, or scrambled file, this should take care of it.

You may have to un-install IE5 first, in order to clear up the problem.

Have you or anyone else using this computer, installed any kind of pop-up window stopper? This could be interferring as well. Check Control Panel, add/remove programs and see if anything like that appears.

If not, then I suggest upgrading to IE 5.5
