POP3 Support with Exchange 2000

By breichardt ·
I have exchange 2000 running on my private network with a firwall to the Internet. How do I set up exchange to get my mail from the ISP and also be able to send mail via exchange to the ISP?

POP3 Support with Exchange 2000

You configure POP3 connector to download messages from the POP3 host. You'll have to get the POP3 host name, then enter your password and account name, to configure the POP3 connector. Also, you can adjust the frequency of when POP3 will try to download messages from the host. All this is done via the Exchange Management console. Also, make sure port 110 is open on your firewall for inbound and outbound connections. To verify that port 110 is working correctly use the telnet utility.

I do not have the POP3 connector available to configure. The only connecters are SMTP, X.400 TCP and another X.400. Do I need to get another program to act as a gateway for the Exchange server?

Thanks for any help
