Popup of Program window

By mtl_webdesign ·
I still encounter some times this problem
it could be a bug of W95/98 when there are 2 directories called "Program" and Program Files", some programs will install themselves into either the first proposed name or the second. My question is how do ido to get rid of this silly popup from Registry?

I doubt that you can - this parameter is usually set within the software installation program rather than the Registry. If the program is not capable of recognizing long filenames with spaces in them, it will choose the first; otherwise the second.

I have seen the program box pop up after installing a version of software that was not intentionally written for Windows 95,98. The only way to get rid of it is to remove all of the programs from the startup menu, rename the autoexec.bat and config.sys files and Windows will create new blank ones, and check the "load" and "run" lines in the "win.ini" file and rem out the commands after the "=."

I have run into this problem. What you need to do is to get the Maxblast disk from the customer that he used to install the Maxblast software on the Quantum HDD. After that boot from the diskette and once you are in the Maxblast program you will have to remove the Maxblast software and you can choose which drive you want to remove it from. The Maxblast software keeps a record of the last 3 changes you made to your drive and you can go back 3 changes ago and undo what you did.
