Port is Open

By miljwall ·
With Net Zero as my ISP, everytime that I try to get online, a message comes up that "Your Port is Open".
What do I need to do to be able to "close" my port so I can use Net Zero to get online?

This usually a problem when you are trying to connect and it does not connect properly, you then try to connect again before the poprt closes.
The only solution I have found was to cancel the sign in screen and then start over.

continued:
Port already open
This behavior can occur for the following
1)If the Dial-Up Networking server is installed and set to allow Caller Access.
You must set TAPI-aware application to not anaswer incoming calls
2)There is a hardware (IRQ)conflict,right-click My Computer, then click Properties.Click the Device Manager tab, then check the properties of each device

Hi we usually have this problem when the modem is not installed correctly or the install has been affected by some other application/hardware.

If you are not using your serial ports I would disable them in the bios definately com 2. Then uninstall the modem and reinstall.

Hope this helps
