Hi,
I spilled on my laptop, and it was plugged in and asleep (but closed) at the time. I immediately unplugged my laptop immediately when it happened and took out the battery, but it is now completely unresponsive. When I plug the charger into the wall, the green light goes on, but if I plug it in to my computer, the green light goes back off. A friend of mine who knows a lot about computers, but not a lot about the electrical components, helped me take it apart to make sure everything was dry and put it together again, but there has been no change.
I am wondering if the mother board is fried, r if there is some other electrical component that is fried. Also, what is the probability that if I fix the electrical part other things will work? Is there a possibility that my hard drive is intact? (I had everything backed up on Carbonite, but in some sort of stroke of bad luck, I may have lost that as well).
I’d really appreciate any ideas, I’m really worried about getting my data back.
