My old computer would only boot through the POST but then displayed “Operating system not found.” Bought a utility called “PowerSuite Professional 2008” which boasts booting even w/o Windows and data recovery.
When I used this CD, it says it is loading the operating system but then it just sits at a blue screen titled “PowerSuite Professional 2008” with a solid bar under it until it times out and goes completely blank. (Also, the scroll and caps locks on the keyboard blink continuously.)
Could this point to a hard drive failure? Any suggestions?
The computer is old, 500mhz Dell T-500 with 510mb RAM, running Win XP-Pro.
