have an Exchange 2000 Server (Service Pack 1),
running 4 Virtual SMTP Servers (Handling e-mail for 4 different domains).
SMTP 1 = hosting.com
SMTP 2 = company1.com
SMTP 3 = company2.com
SMTP 4 = company3.com
If someone sends an e-mail to an unknown user at any of the domains they
recieve a NDR back from postmaster@hosting.com.
Looking at the headers of the NDR, it is been generated by the SMTP Server
that the original message was sent to,
but it isn’t masquerading for that domain.
This is causing confusion for some of our customers as they are e-mailing
bobby.someone@company1.com and getting a NDR back from
postmaster@hosting.com, they will then reply back to this e-mail claiming
they havn’t e-mail anyone at hosting.com.
Has anyone come across this before, if so how do I fix it.
