power issues?

by daz'n'ash . Updated 18 years, 8 months ago

I have just bought a new case for my computer, I changed all the hardware very carefully to the new case from the old one, even bought a new PSU. The problem is, when I plug the power into my storage drive, the system won;t power up. If I unplug it, the system powers up just fine.

The system specs are …
Intel Core2Duo 1.8
1GB DDR2
80Gb hard drive (C. drive)[Seagate SATA]
250GB Hard Drive (storage drive)[Seagate SATA]
600W PSU
2 x DVD writers
The power connector plugs on the PSU are enough to plug into each device …. [1 plug to each burner, one to each HDD 1 each to the front and rear case fans]

I have never encountered such a problem before. It all worked just fine in the old case… why not now?

The PSU is NEW. It works just like it should … until I plug in the storage drive. I have tried other PSUs and get the same result.
