1.Trun off Hard disk option is required to function the Hibvernate.

But Windows power settings are stored on a PER USER basis.

Our group policies here do not allow users to change the power settings. They get whatever settings are stored in the default profile.

You CAN change the power configuration by directly editing the registry dataa for that user.

HKEY_USERS\USERID\Control Panel\PowerCfg


Current settings from my machien are:
0=Home/Office Desk
3=Always On
4=Minimal Power Management
5=Max Battery
