Greetings,
I have system that doesn’t always recover from “Sleep” mode properly. Im using a MS Internet Keyboard. Frequently, when I move the mouse, or press the Sleep button to wake up the PC, I just get the standard Windows green desktop. But it’s blank. No icons, no task bar, nothing. Ocasionally I get a GPF IPF involving MPREXE. It usually leads to having to do a hard reset.
In addition, my power management settings won’t stay set. Once changed, after a reboot, when I check them, they are back to the defaults. (20 Min, 15 Min, 30 Min). I have tried changing the settings then saving the profile, but it still doesn’t stay.
I am running Win98 SE with all of the shut down patches installed. The system is a Biostar MK7A motherboard with 192 MB RAM and a 900 MHz Athlon Slot A.
Thanks,
Brian
