I have an emachine on the bench that starts up on it’s own when you plug it in to AC power. It does not POST. The power on lite in front of the case just starts blinking rapidly and there is a clunking noise starts at the same time. When I opened the case I found it was very dusty inside, to the point you could not see the cooling fins below the CPU fan and the power supply was also full of dust. The machine is six years old and has never been clean according to the customer.
I am thinking the problem is the whole system is suffering from an overheating problem and not worth fixing this $400 machine.
What do you all think?
Thank you Joe
