I ahve a RCA?HP powerline home networking kit that I am having trouble installing on a machine that is running Windows XP Home addition.
The other machine I instaled the hardware and software on is running Windows 98SE and the installation worked without any problems.
Here’s the setup. You plug a, for lack of a better word, anappliance into an electrical outlet and connect it to the computer via Parallel Printer Cable or USB Cable. In my case it’s USB.
On the XP Machine the Hardware installsOK. It’s called “PC Systemlink”. PC Systemlink is present when I check Hardware Devices and shows up on a USB port.
The next step in the install process is to install the hardware drivers. This is where the install hangs. Nothing happens. This process took about 2 minutes on the Windows 98SE machine.
