    powerlogd consuming high cpu

    by jimmysofat6864 ·

For some reason, powerlogd is eating up a lot of cpu for no reason. Like it gets up to 80 and stays there for no reason. I got my battery serviced recently so it might be that but I just want to see if there is a fix for this. I have tried resetting the smc and the pram to no avail. Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?

I can’t help wondering if this “Battery Serviced” has anything to do with this problem. Exactly what was done and who did it?
Perhaps it’s time for a new battery given that that the system appears to have a problem with the “serviced” one.

Essentially here a EGOWAY battery was installed into this computer by me and that was the only thing that was done. I may have forgot to shut down before removing the battery but in any case powerlogd still goes to max cpu when waking from sleep.

I’ve read a number of bad reviews about these batteries in a Mac laptop, a number of good ones too, so there is a possibility that you have a faulty one.
Purchased from Amazon? If so, return for replacement/refund.
