Powerpoint Install issue

By zach ·
Fellow IT professionals, TechRepublic members, and forum moderators,

I work for a commercial contracting and design firm known as Kustom inc. I do general contracting, CAD work, research, and presentations. I use powerpoint to incorporate and present the CAD drawings that I export in wmf format.

Here's the problem. The corporate office is in FL and I live in IN, and the office has the disk for Microsoft Office 11 that I need to reinstall to fix my problem. Everything except Powerpoint and Publisher works fine, but when I start either of those, they say "not installed for this user, please reinstall". Is there a file I can edit to fix this so that I don't have to lose work time waiting for the disk in the mail?

Check out this article I found it may help. It is using Outlook but refers to working with the rest of Office produts.

Hope this helps.

Any other ideas

I think that has a slim chance of working and I will try it.

But, I cannont even click any of the menus in Powerpoint to do that so How do I disable UAC?

Do you know of any other possible solutions?
