I have an end user using Windows NT 4 Workstation, SP 5. They are Running MS Office 2000 Professional.
When they open most (not all) of the Powerpoint presentations on their system, Powerpoint states that there is no disk in the drive, and to insert a floppy in Drive A:. When this message is ignored (twice), the document now opens without error, until the nest time such a document is opened.
We are Running McAfee VirusScan NT, and it is fully up to date. No virus that we can determine. I have installed SR-1a for Office 2000, and that did not clear the error. The error began after receiving one certain presentation, but has extended to many.
For what it’s worth, I suspec tit’s a problem with a template or other similar startupoption for Powerpoint, but the error does NOT happen if Powerpoint is started up without a document. The error, however, does appear as soon as a presentation is opened.
Any ideas? I’m thinking of removing and reinstalling Powerpoint, but I’d like to avoid it, if I can.
