pre-installation windows xp home

Can anyone give me a step by step idiots guide to pre-installing windows xp home edition. I have the oem pre-installation kit and have attempted to read the documentation without much success. I build only a small number of systems and do not wishto conduct a network install. The bare minimum install from cd to comply with licence regs would suffice.
