Prevent spyware infections WITHOUT user intervention

By kmpirish ·
Does anyone know of a tool that prevents spyware infections (specifically changes to the registry) without asking the user to approve or deny changes?

I've looked at tools like Lavasoft's Ad-Watch, Spybot's Tea Timer, Microsoft's AntiSpyware, etc, but each tool pops up a message when a change is attempted. That would mean lots more calls for us - no thanks.

I'd rather be able to block such changes silently. I am looking into the possiblity of making our users a member of Users on the local PC, but it's going to take a lot of research and time before that can happen. Any suggestions for the meantime?

Thanks,
Kate

Registry Lockdown

Why not just lock down the registry? Users shouldn't be able to make modifications to it anyway...

It's not manual changes I'm trying to stop...

Regedit is disallowed on our PCs by group policy, but that doesn't stop malware from putting an entry into HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run, for example. It's that sort of registry modification I'm looking to stop
