Are there any known issues with the HP laserjet 5/5M Standard driver and Adobe Acrobat 4.0? I have end users that attempt to print from Adobe, and all the text comes out without spaces, making very long unreadable lines.

Yes, there are know problems with those printers and Acrobat. HAve your users print as image. That should take care of problem.
