Print excel checkboxes only when checked

By kcliff ·
I'm creating an instruction form that will be completed electronically then printed signed and faxed to the person who will be carrying out the order. Each row represents a customer and has multiple options for actions to be carried out. I have placed 1 checkbox per column for each possible action. The person completing the form will check the appropriate box(es) applicable to any actions required for that customer. To make the form easier to read when printed, I'd like to have only those checkboxes that are checked to print. Is this possible?

Use the cell-link option by right-clicking each checkbox and choosing a cell to link it to. The cell you link it to will display a true/false value depending on if the checkbox is ticked. Either use a column that is off the printed-area or hide the entire column altogether.

You can then create a macro that filters the true/false informaton and then prints the sorted details.

On Change Event for the checkbox(es)

by mike_berry In reply to

You can use the Change Event for each check box to turn the PrintObject property on/off depending on the checkbox's value. For CheckBox1 this would be...

Private Sub CheckBox1_Change()

If CheckBox1 = True Then
CheckBox1.PrintObject = True
CheckBox1.PrintObject = False
End If

End Sub
