Print from XP to Win98

This could be a simple one but it has got me at the moment.

We have a Win98 machine that has an Epson Stylus 870 Photo printer connected to it on LPT1. We can print to this printer from another Win 98 machine on the network, but we are unable to print to it from an XP machine on the same local network.

The XP machine can access the files on the Win98 machine, but cannot print to the printer. We have installed all the appropriate drivers, and XP finds the network printer in the search, and installs it all OK – it just won’t print.

A test print fais with the report that it is unable to start the print job.
