Print Server

We have a print server running on NT 4.0, but we will be building a new print server running W2k server. We would like to rename all the shared names for the printers once moved to the new print server. The printers number about 15. Might sound likea dumb question, but is their an easy way to migrate this?

There is no real way to migrate the scenario that you have. If all your printers are network interface IP based printers then it is just a simple matter of adding the IP Ports to Windows 2000, installing the Printers and resharing them. If you know all the IP Addresses of the printers then you you will NOT have to install jet direct (or what ever management software you use) you can just add Digital IP Ports and the generic one should work on most printers (it certainly works on jet direct cards.

Once you've done that you will obviously need to modify the clients to point to the coprrect locations.
