Print spooler & queue

In win2k Printserver , i have about 50 printer configured for print spooler. sometimes in print queue some of the print hangs with error & you cannot delete it from queue, it remains there with the error. how do we delete this print without restarting the pooler service.


Given a MAC address of the remote computer , how do i find its IP address / Host name.

1. i don't know to delete stuck files that the print is holding open without stopping spooler. so i guess the best i could offer is to help resolve the spool crashes.
2. i have not explored the Win2K Server Resource Kit but my 3Com Network Supervisor program can do as you wish. if that helps.

Try going into the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SPOOL folder and manually delete any files in there. This will delete any other print jobs in the spool as well so I would suggest you make sure no one is printing at the moment.
