Print spooler won't clear

By apopowski ·
On My Nt 4.0 Server the print spooler does not clear the spooled jobs. This happens on 4 printers, when the server gets rebooted it prints all the jobs in the spooler and still leaves the files there. I have removed the printer and reinstalled, doesthe same thing.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Try going into the Spool folder and clearing it out (C:\Winnt\System32\Spool.)

That usually does the trick for stuck print jobs.

Also, try stopping and restarting the Spooler service on the server.

Deleting the files works, but everyday the files keep building back. They do not clear when the jobs are printed. The status show Printed-Printing

Stop the Spooler service first on your print spooler.
Then go to %widir%\system32\spool and delete the files. These files are the print jobs.
Restart the Spooler service.
Print Spooler should now be clear.

Go to the Properties of each printer.
Click on Schedule tab
Uncheck "Keep documents after printing"
Hope this help.

I tried deleting the files and restarting the spooler, it does not help. All the print jobs stay in the spooler, I delete them every day, until I can solve the problem.
