Our company (15 PC’s) is networked using Novell 3.2 with a Windows 9x peer-to-peer thrown in over the top. Several months ago, right after we moved from ArcNet to EtherNet and switched to a faster server, we started experiencing printer dropouts onour main network printer – an HP LaserJet 5. This only happens when printing from a DOS database. Unfortunately, it’s our custom-written system for orders, quotes, accounting, etc. The printer randomly “looses” characters (even line-feeds), trashing the output. Everything prints fine from Windows. The printer is ok when set up locally and the cable is good. I’m WAY out of ideas.
