Printer Errors

by Slyde Phaeder In reply to Printer Errors

It's been 20 days and nobody's answered, so I'll give it a try. First of all, note that the print job wrote 1.6 GB! That's an awfully big print job. Are you sure you're not running out of disk space on the server? Check your server error log forovernight messages. Also, with such a long report, there may be extended periods during which the application is gathering and formatting data for the next segment, so you may need to increase the timeout value for that queue in the login script for the account that prints these jobs. Try 120 seconds rather than the usual 20. Also, if you are trying to run a tape backup concurrent with the printing of these reports, the two processes could be fighting over CPU and memory resources or exclusive access to the same files, causing one or both to error. I'll repeat this, with emphasis: check your server error log!
