Printer Friendly

By tsmoot4840 ·
I really like the Printer Friendly options, I'd like to add them to my site. Is there a trick to this or a feature in Microsoft Word to do it? I hope I don't have to make two documents - like one page with graphics and another with just the text andthen link the Printer Friendly option to the text page. Thanks for the help and thanks Techrepublic, I'm addicted to your site!

I am sorry to tell you that you will have to create two versions of the page. One with the graphics and one without to make sure it comes out properly when printed.

You aren't necessarily bound to creating two pages. If you use frames and the parts you do not want in the printed document is not the frame, all you need to do is redirect the "friendly printer page" to the page itself instead of the whole framed page. The printer friendly version can be the same (ie have some graphics), just get the framed portion out of the way. This is how most people do it.
