I have discovered I can no longer install any printer driver onto my desktop (Presario, XP Home, SP2)
I have tried installing multi printers – as ‘local’ on muli USB ports, and as ‘networked’. At best, after all drivers are installed, I try the “test print’ and get the error “The printer was not installed…” And have also rec’d the error msg: Cannot install this hardware. There was a problem installing this hardware OfficeJet 7200 series. An error occurred during the installation of the device. The class installer denied the request to install or upgrade this device.
I have dug through the registry to ensure I couldn’t find a “Disable” key that was blocking, to no avail. Thoughts?
