First do what the manual says about paper jams.
Then, if it’s still it warranty, contact HP for free repair.
If no luck, pay for repair or buy another one if repair is too expensive. Those $300 devices are somewhere between throw-away and having a service and maintenance contract. So it depends on the costs what’s the best solution.

So as Kees noted, try what the maker says and given the age I would not opt for paid repair since here can easily be more than a new printer.

I pull out the finisher from the machine and see this brown paper substance at the entry. Is that what I’m like? To get that stuff out, I had to pull the box out. Brown bag remnants turned out to be…

Overfilling the paper tray is frequently causes paper jams. Many printers have sliding mechanisms that allow different types and sizes of paper to be fed into the printer. If the slider is not correctly positioned, it can cause a paper jam. Use standard office paper.
