printer languages

By reesestix ·
here's a funny thing for me to figure out. I just recently had someone come up to me about a printer problem. The model is a brother hl-2040 series. The printer prints in English but the print setup is in a foreign language. How do I change this when I can't read it?

If you have the disk for the printer, put this in.

When you load in the printer driver disk you can then choose the language, or download the drivers from the printers makers website in what ever language you need.

Interesting

Well the funny and strange thing is that only one tab is in a foreign language in the print setup. It would be the very far right tab. The rest are in English. The printer prints in English too.

Could you write the language down and post it?.

If possible can you write the language down and post it then i could see if there is a workaround for it.
I will need your FULL id make and model of your printer so that i can see if there is anything in the service manual that can be changed.

It is a Brother HL-2040 Series

Some of the language words are:
Bakkeindstillinger
Bakke
manual
udefineret
Opdater (with a little ` over the e)
standard...

I have research and think it is Danish but not really sure. Help.

I tried to install the printer again with an English driver and still the same thing.
