Printer over network

By handan ·
Hello,
I have 3 PCs w/ windows 2000 installed.
They are connected w/ network(static IP).
I have a local printer connected to one of these pcs. I want to share the printer with the other two pcs. How do I do it?
Thank you in advance.

All PCs must be part of the same work-group.

Enable file and printer sharing on the PC with the printer connected to it.

If needed, allow access through any firewalls to the other PCs.

Install the printer driver on the target PCs.
Select network printer and browse to the PC and printer.

What TheChas said is quite correct, but there are some other little problems. The user on the machine has to have power user rights so that he can share the printer. Then, you go to the Printers tab, rightclick the printer, Sharing and check the "Share as" buton, write down a share name and then press ok.
From the other computers, go to the My Network Places, browse till the computer that has the shared printer, expand it and then doubleclick on the shared printer and press YES when asked to install the printer. That's it. Good luck!
