Printer Pofiles

By smahan ·
I have a regular need to add printer's for users that are not logged into the machine. Is there a way I can set up a printer to be universal for the machine, or quickly/easily copy the printer I create as local Admin to the user's profile?

Thanks

Share the printers from your NT Server, install the Win95 driver for the server, use a good naming convention on the server, label your printers, and put together a one page instruction on how to find and install the right printer--then tape that tothe printer.

Q263226 from Microsoft
How to Add a Default Printer Using a Visual Basic Script

Set WshNetwork = CreateObject("WScript.Network")
PrinterPath = "\\Server\Printer"
PrinterDriver = "PrinterDriver"
WshNetwork.AddWindowsPrinterConnection PrinterPath, PrinterDriver
WshNetwork.SetDefaultPrinter "\\Server\Printer"

Save above as a .VBS and place in all users startup

Change the above to match your Network printer
