Printer pooling

I have 3 HP LaserJet 8100’s pooled on Win2k Pro (Standard TCP/IP ports).
If a job stops before it is done(paper jam,toner out,etc) the jobs starts printing on another printer from the beginning. I do not want this to happen,I want the job to sit idle and wait for user intervention. Is there a way to do this? I can’t find a timeout setting.
