Printer Q problem

By GrandFou ·
Since a while, I have a problem with a group of people using a network printer. For whatever reason each print document is kept into
the spooling folder of the workstation. There's actually no setting specifies to keep printed document in the printer setting.

After the job has been print, the document stay on the workstation in "%SystemRoot%\system32\spool\PRINTERS".

This is actualy getting to be serious problem since printed document waste a lot of space. i had remove 11410 printed document from 1 workstation. This mean approximately 3.5Gb wasted space use.

If someone has some clues how I can fix this it would be appreciated...

Thanx for you help !

Maybe permissions for "%SystemRoot%\system32\spool\PRINTERS" was changed.

Thanx this help me out. I figure out that that if I give full right to user group. then document get deleted. But what is weird is that even on some fresh new installation I got this problem. No one has change file permission on the system. I'll figure out what permission should be given and then apply it.

Log on to the print server and open the properties for each printer. Under the scheduling tab, there is a setting to "keep documents after printing". Uncheck that setting.

If the setting is already unchecked, check it, print a test document, thenuncheck it.

Good Luck,
