I have a new Gateway MX6421 notebook with XP Media SP2 on it. I have a Dynex USB to parallel cable attached to a HP LaserJET 4 printer attached to the USB port on the notebook. The System Device shows that I have USB printer support but the printer doesn’t seem to know that it is supposed to print. Test pages don’t print, nothing prints and the Device Manager doesn’t show that a printer is attached. I have added (and deleted) both printer and the USB printer support with no luck. Any ideas?
