Printer Spooler Won’t stay STARTED

by burnsc . Updated 14 years, 11 months ago

I just installed XP professional on a new hd in my Novell lab. All programs work great and computer connects to both the Novell network and the Windows domain. When I try to install a network printer, I click on Add a Printer and get an instant message with a red X that states “Operation could not be completed”. I open the services applet and find the print spooler is off. I restart the spooler and attempt to open the printer applet and get “spooler subsystem app has encountered a problem and needs to close”…and have been going around and around with this….I’ve run spybot and eliminated spyware and I have McAfee running…..
