printer takes forever to print

Recently bought a new Lenovo IdeaPad S340. Installed HP Envy printer from website (no CD slot on this computer). Got it to print once with big delay. Seems to never want to print until a very long wait. With old HP laptop once I sent something to printer, it printed right away. Wireless printer. Don’t know how to correct. Tried to set document property to High priority (tho it won’t stay that way, have to reset with each document). Tried troubleshooting, finds no easy issue, says problem that windows will look into. Don’t know what that means….. Have made sure printer is default printer. Now what? Real pain! Thanks!
