Printers and Vista

By george12054 ·
I can "build" a printer and connect to it using the Vista OS. However, every time the system is re-booted the printer is off-line and has to be removed and rebuilt in order to print to it again. Any way to insure that it "reconnects" when the Vista OS is re-booted?

Does this happen in Windows XP for this printer? It sounds like you could be using the wrong driver... You could also try upgrading to Vista SP1 - there have been loads of driver-related fixes in Vista SP1.

By the way, are other applications having similar problems? Such as Internet Explorer forgets the Homepage you saved? If so, then it's probably a user profile problem.

Vista & Printer

by george12054 In reply to Well

This does not hapen in Windows XP. I am running XP on my laptop and do not experience any problem with the printer. However, my wife's laptop that is running Vista has the problem with the same printer(s). She is running Vista SP1. Her IE does not have a problem remembering its Homepage.
