In brief:
I’ve got 17 Printers HP Laserjet 4000N.
Printing is in this way:
All printers are added via local ports (LPR port) to one of my servers (NT), and, then shared for public use.
Some of users use JetDirect ports direcly, skipping server.I used PCL6 drivers, but, due to one of applications requirements, I had to change drivers to PS (PostScript).
Now, there is a mess – some applications print, some not. Printers sometimes print fast, sometimes not at all… That applications itself, gives me DrWatson errors on certain report printings…
I tried to switch some printers back to PCL – but it does not work well…
I tried to delete printers, etc.
Goal: To have cleaned PostScript printing infrastructure, avoiding total formatof all workstations, including server where printers are shared.
Thanks in advance
