Printers set at user login

By 2dewar ·
Windows 2000P clients logging onto W2K server with AD and OU running, my problem is: How can I have multiple users who are part of a OU be assigned multiple AD listed printers and the same default printer for that group on several computers. I have a basic login script running that uses the Net Use command for mapping drives.

Look at this site to see how to script printers
based on group membership.
you can script a printer and set it as the default based on either user or computer group membership
look at logon script #3

The same script maps drives based on group membership as well

the solution I gave you is what is needed to set a default printer based on the computer that the user is logs onto. If you were looking for a simple answer using a bat file it doesn't exist.
If my answer is to complicated for you, you should say so, and ask for further help, not reject my answer. The answer I gave you works perfectly. It would allow you to use a single logon script for your whole domain, scripting mapped drives and printers for all.
