Printing a booklet from Finale

By andrew.dyson ·
My wife has written some music in Finale Notepad. There are 12 sheets of music and she wants to print them on A4 paper 2-up double-sided in a booklet arrangement. This means that sheet 1 and sheet 12 will be on the same side of the same piece of paper, with sheet 2 and 11 on the other side of the piece of paper.
The problem is that you cannot tell Finale to print page 1 and 12. You tell it to print from page x to page y.
I can see two solutions to this problem. I can print it all out as a pdf document. However, adobe reader is the same in that I can only specify printing page x to page y. So the first possible solution would be to find a pdf reader that has the flexibility to print page 1 and 12 and then set my printer driver to print 2-up.
The second solution would be to find a printer driver piece of software that would intercept printing instructions and give a load of options for printing the output as a booklet.
Oh, and it needs to be FREEWARE or a few dollars.
Any ideas?
Thank you

Do it in printer settings

by ThumbsUp2 In reply to Printing a booklet from F ...

Your printer should have a setting you can change at print time which tells it to print in booklet format, double sided, 2 pages per sheet. You may need to manually feed the double sided part, but it will take care of the rest.

Not available

Good idea but I'm afraid that the only layout options I have are n-up options and left to right or right to left.
Sorry.

Even in printer properties?

by ThumbsUp2 In reply to Not available

Do you mean you can not go into print properties and set it to print 2 pages per sheet? Once that is selected, it should give you the option select booklet layout. Remember, you have to go to File/Print and not just hit the print icon on the toolbar.

I even checked with Kyocera

by andrew.dyson In reply to Even in printer propertie ...

There is the option for n-up printing and poster printing but there is no booklet option. I even called Kyocera's technical support. They thought it existed too but eventually realised that it is only available on models with duplex capability. Shame. It would have been a simple solution.
