Printing a range in a 79 page word doc.

By lumberjack ·
One of my user has a 80 page document and would like to print a range. However when he does nothing comes out.
1) Have tried copying data into new document
2) Different user(s) with differentpermissions
3) Local, shared and network (direct) printers
4) 3 different PCs
5) Breaking down the document into smal;ler docs gives the following results
section > 6 pages - no print; 6 pages - sometimes; < 6 Pages - prints ok!

We are using W2K SP3; Office (Word) XP - tried with SP1 and Sp2; Printers were Oki 24, Hp4100 and Hp4200TN; PCs are all Compaq Evo 1.6 with 512Mb RAM

MAke sure the page breaks are not section breaks.
Turn on the Show/Hide pilcrow (?). View the document in Normal view and scroll though the pages.

Thanks, unfortunatly it seems the problem was down to the number of sections the doc has as some pages have heading some dont etc, some landscape.

found a solution in microsoft "new look" technet site - selecting print pages across sections. In Print Pages input requirements in format of p1s2-p4s2.

However would still like to just select the page numbers

Sections divide the document into formatting options. The can be replaced with page breaks using Find ^b Replace ^m
Be carful, you will lose such things as landscape or seperate headers.
