Printing directory contents

By michelle.malley ·
Is there any way to print the contents of a directory/window with a Windows accessory, Office, or a utility? The directory the user wants to print the contents of is over 1000 files, thereby making print screen clumsy. I've searched TechNet and several other sources, but haven't found anything addressing this.
It could be done with a Macintosh, but we're strictly a Win shop.

It's easy!

1. Go to a command prompt.

2. Type dir (path) /s >lpt1
e.g. dir C:\my documents /s >lpt1

This will send a list of files in C:\my documents, and any subdirectories, to the printer.

Alternatively, you could do

dir (path) /s > c:\temp\dirdump.txt

and this would send the list to a file called dirdump.txt in your c:\temp directory.

Hope this helps!

Works great. I was wondering if it could be done through DOS, but wasn't sure what the commands would be. Thank you.
