Printing HPGL from Unix to W2K

By olindblom ·
I have problem printing HPGL-files to a HP1050C printer from Unix ( eg. Solaris 5..The unixjob are spooled to a W2K server and the output to the printer is pure HPGL-code.I've tried different settings in the printerdriver (eg. send the job directly to the printer)which didn't helped.
Any suggestion ?

Regards /Ove

Printing HPGL from Unix to W2K

As a test try this from your Unix box
unix2dos FILE|lp -d PRINTER
where FILE is the FILE you want to print and PRINTER is the known PRINTER or PRINT SERVER depending on how you would normally print with lp -d. Email my alias either way. If thisworks I have a quick fix for you. If it doesn't I still might be ablet to help.

I have some experience with this problem. How is the W2k setup? Unix printing services? If so, you need to setup raw printing and modify the printq /usr/spool/lp/interface/printername to print raw as well. If I get more info, I can maybe help a little more.
