Printing Slow with XP SP2

I have network PC’s running a combination of NT 4.0, XP SP1a, and XP SP2. When Printing to a HP Laserjet 5000 (also networked), the XP SP2 PC’s printing can take upto 5 mins to start printing. but when printing on a XP SP1 or NT PC it takes a matter of seconds to start printing.

any suggestions would be most helpfull.
